Why we choose Kineret Tamim Academy

I wouldn’t choose any other school over Kineret Tamim Academy not because I work here, but because I truly believe in the value of Jewish education and how beautifully it is delivered at KTA.

Working at the school allows me to see firsthand the progress my child is making, what he is learning, and how happy he is each day. The low teacher-to-student ratio and enriching programs such as skating, marine biology, and a variety of field trips create an engaging learning experience that goes far beyond the classroom.

Most importantly, my child is excited to come to school and often doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day, which is a wonderful “problem” to have as a parent.

Knowing my child is happy, growing, and excited to learn every day makes KTA feel like the right place for our family.

Best of all, KTA is a school where children feel happy, supported, and inspired to learn. The teachers genuinely care about the students, and the environment is nurturing and positive with small class sizes and lots of hands-on learning. As parents, it gives us peace of mind knowing our daughter is learning in a place that values both education and community. We have been so happy with our experience that next year we will also be sending our second daughter to KTA. We truly feel fortunate to be part of this special school.

When Julia started kindergarten, we expected she would learn to read, add numbers, and begin to develop an understanding of the world around her. Our expectations have been far exceeded. Looking at the growth we have seen over the past nine months, we realized that not only has KTA developed our daughter academically, but personally as well. I have felt pride watching her grow into herself as a confident and excited girl eager to participate, share, and volunteer in class.

I feel so lucky because I get to go to the very first Jewish school in Victoria. Our school is still small, but I think that makes it extra special. Everyone knows each other, and it feels like one big family. The kids are funny, kind, smart, and respectful, and the teachers always help us do our best.

One of my favourite things about my school is that we learn three languages: English, French, and Hebrew.  Sometimes it can be challenging, but it is also exciting and fun. I feel proud that I get to learn in three languages and understand more about my own culture as well as different cultures.

We also put together a school dance performance and performed at the UVic auditorium and the Vancouver Jewish Festival. Standing on stage with my classmates made me feel proud and excited. Every day feels like a new adventure.

“Our goal is to create a school in which every Jewish child, regardless of background and affiliation, will feel that is their home and community.”
